One of the tasks I had to do for Gateway was to delve deeper into myself and try and find my true values in life. Before this class, I had never had to look at myself so deeply to try to figure out what I valued most; it was quite a daunting experience. As always, Erin was extremely beneficial in providing us ways to discover our values and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to look inward and reflect. Our goal was to narrow down our values to the three we believed were truly most important which was a difficult task and share the meaning behind our values with everyone. I realized from this task that even though someone may share the same values as you the meaning behind theirs could be drastically different than the meaning behind yours. Then we had to reflect on a time when our values came through. I reflected on high school since it was such a recent experience for me and realized that my values were family, love, and respect which in my mind are all interconnected. The file is attached below which better explains how I define my three most important values.
